Club52 opens its doors
14 November 2007
Today, Club52 opened its doors for its first-ever meeting. The Innovation platform met in the boardroom of Club52. After the official opening of FiftyTwoDegrees, chairman Gijs Wanders, together with the originators and the recommending committee, will open the Business Lounge of Club52.
Club52 is the exclusive meeting place at the FiftyTwoDegrees innovation center in Nijmegen. Here, modern companies and organizations meet to build a new future together. Club52 has all the hallmarks of an executive business club with its own home base. However, the ambition is much higher: the club will expand into an exclusive and internationally oriented network. The concept of “open innovation” is central to this plan.
Club52’s ties with a significant portion of the Dutch knowledge economy are strong: Nijmegen: “Heath Valley”; Wageningen: “Food Valley”; Arnhem: Fashion and Energy; and Eindhoven: High-Tech Campus. Located in the heart of these important regions, Club52 combines these important themes of business, lifestyle and high-tech. The events are intended to strengthen the contacts between entrepreneurs, high-tech companies, research institutions and the government. Ron Lubbers: “Club52 must serve as the stage for new product developments. It offers the space to learn from each other, but also – and most importantly – to inspire each other. The goal is to enable collaborations across multiple disciplines.”
Club52 is an initiative of the cooperation between ICE-Development and Ballast Nedam Construction Special Projects and is supported by NXP, Compass Group and Regus. As part of the recommending committee, local administrators work to further expand the network of collaboration partners.
